Tips
Dry season and green season
December to April is the dry season on the Pacific side. From May to November expect afternoon rain; mornings are usually clear and the forest is at its greenest.
Book park tickets online
Manuel Antonio National Park caps daily visitors, sells tickets online only and closes one day a week. Food, plastic bags and drones aren’t allowed inside.
Money and driving
Colones and US dollars are both widely accepted, and cards work in most places. Roads are slow and winding; avoid driving after dark and use a navigation app.
Watch your bags and the waves
Monkeys and raccoons grab bags on the beach, so never feed them. Rip currents are common at Playa Espadilla; swim where others are swimming.
Keep exploring
