Two powerful falls cutting through rock gorges right off the road.

      Getting around

About an hour and a quarter east as the mountains drop away behind you.

Tips

Park pass and shuttles

You need a Parks Canada pass for every day in the parks. Book the Parks Canada shuttle to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake as soon as reservations open; parking at Lake Louise fills very early.

Fuel and signal on the parkway

The Icefields Parkway has one gas station, at Saskatchewan Crossing, and little cell coverage. Download offline maps before you leave.

Check trail conditions

Parts of Jasper burned in the 2024 wildfire, and some high roads and trails open only in late June. Check Parks Canada for closures before each day.

Bears and weather

Carry bear spray on trails and never feed wildlife. Even in July, mornings can be near freezing and snow can fall at the passes, so pack a warm layer.
